If you are not a United States citizen, and you do not have a will in either Mexico or the United States, your property will be subject to the probate process in the United States. In fact, even if you have a Mexican or United States will, your property will be subject to the probate process. A Mexican will may be recognized in the United States, however it is highly recommended that you execute a United States will for the property located here, to avoid extensive probate administration headaches. American wills must be signed by the testator (the person executing the will), but Mexican wills need not. Differences like this could present administration problems for your estate.
